On October 4, we were happy to welcome Ruth Broyde Sharone back to Manhattan College, presenting "Real Life Jewish-Muslim Encounters". This time, she joined us with the "Peace and Healing Quilt" a patchwork assembled by 72 Israeli and Palestinian women. Its stop in the Bronx came after paying visits to the Peace Pentagon in Virginia, the North American Interfaith Network Conference in Guadalajara, Mexico and, on their International Day of Peace, it was featured at the UN Chapel in New York.

The evening was filled with discussion and song, as Ms. Broyde Sharone shared with us songs from her original musical - "Interfaith - The Musical", and lead some MC students in founding a new Interfaith Club on campus! It was a wonderful evening of peace, understanding, and fun!

As the sun sets, marking the end of the daily fast during Ramadan, and the culmination of the Fast of Esther in the Jewish tradition, we invite you to break bread with members of different faith communities in a spirit of unity, understanding, and friendship. This unique event aims to foster a sense of togetherness, promote dialogue, and celebrate the rich tapestry of religious traditions that contribute to the mosaic of our community. A vegetarian, Kosher and Halal dinner will be served.
